Music Video Lyrics

This is the lyrics for our song, we have marked out which part each person will be singing but it will also be put together with the narrative parts of the video we are making.

DVD Cover

As part of the course it expected that the group must create promotional products to support the music video. Here is the brief which my group is following;
Brief 1: A promotion package for the release of an album, to include a music promo video, together with two of the following three ancillary tasks:
A website homepage for the band;
A cover for its release on DVD;
A magazine advertisement for the DVD.
The two ancillary tasks which my group are to create are; a cover for its release on DVD and a magazine advertisement for the DVD.
Above is a net of a DVD case which we will use as a rough out line for the promotional music video DVD.

Copyright Letter To EMI

We have written this letter to EMI to ask permission to use their song by The Veronicas for our final major project.

Thomas Rotherham College,
Moorgate Road,
Rotherham,
S60 2BE.

Dear Jonathan Channon,

We are students at Thomas Rotherham College currently studying Media. For our A-level coursework we will be recreating a music video and would like to use ‘The Veronicas – Untouched’ for our project.

The video will be purely for educational purposes and will not be used for broadcast. It will be viewed by our class mates, teachers, parents and the exam board when the coursework is submitted.

All of the song writing and publishing credits will be acknowledged, but we hope it is ok for us to use the song.

If any issues arise from this, please let me know. Please contact our teacher James Finlayson at the above address.

Yours

Emma Huggins, Lucy Farrell and Frances McGrother
TRC Students.

Script For Dialogue In Music Video

Costume Research Continuted....

For our video we would like one performer to be dressed in white who is the girlfriend of the boy in the video. She would be wearing white so that she is seen as the innocent one in the video. The other girl would be wearing black as it looks like she is trying to steal the girl’s boyfriend. Examples of black clothing are the front cover to Britney Spears’ Greatest Hits: My Prerogative, the colour theme for what we want is there but the image is too objectified and too much of her body is shown in the image like her legs and stomach.

Costume Research

We have looked at the photos taken for the cover of Pink’s single So What! We have looked at the costume which was used for the shoot. Pink has a simple outfit on which would be easy to recreate something similar if we wanted to use it in our music video or on our single cover. In the photos she is wearing a black leather jacket and black shoes with a red heel and bright green leggings. Personally, I think that the contrast in colours gives the photo a ‘funky’ effect and shows integration between pop and rock genres of music. I also think the tattoo on her wrist also has connotations of rock music as rock musicians stereotypically are known to have lots of tattoos and generally show them off. Not having the bottom of her back covered draws the audiences attention to her, this is also objectifying her as she is not totally covered and the leggings are only just covering her bum, which men would find it attractive.

This is the presentation that we showed to the class. It shows all of our ideas. We have made it into a video by using CamStudio.

Audience Feedback Sheets

These are three examples of the audience feedback sheets that people filled in for us. Most of the audience thought we should do our music video to The Veronicas hit single Untouched. The rest of the votes were for Kelly Clarkson's My Life Would Suck Without You and no-one voted for our first idea. (LeAnn Rimes - Can't Fight The Moonlight)

Ideas

We looked at three different ideas for songs we could use for our project. We wrote about each of the ideas looking at props, locations and the purpose of each.
